Why the residence permit matters

KuCoin accepts a residence permit as a verification document, and decides eligibility by country of residence. So if you're an expat (say, an Egyptian in Kuwait or a Syrian in Germany), you can verify with the residence permit from the country you live in, as long as KuCoin is available there.

Steps

1. Open the verification page

  • App: account icon → Unverified, or Verify Now on the home screen.
  • Website: Account Center → Identity Verification.

2. Choose the issuing country

Choose the country that issued the document you're going to use.

3. Choose the document type

ID card, driver's license, passport or residence permit.

4. Photograph the document

Take photos of the original document itself: not a printout or a scan. It must not be expired, and every detail must be readable.

5. Face verification

Follow the on-screen instructions to scan your face.

6. Wait for the result

You'll get the result by email. If your application is rejected, you'll find the reason on the Identity Verification page and can submit again.

Open KuCoin and finish verifying →

Common reasons for rejection

  • A printed or scanned copy instead of the original document.
  • An expired document.
  • A blurry photo or cut-off corners.
  • Being under 18.
