How to Create an OKX Account: Step-by-Step

How OKX sign-up differs from Binance

  • OKX asks for both your email and your phone number. Binance only needs one of them.
  • You pick your country on the very first screen. Choose the country you actually live in. OKX isn't available to residents of some countries, including Syria.
  • Some screens may show up in English regardless of your settings, so we've given the button names exactly as they appear.

How to create an OKX account on your phone (6 steps)

Download the official OKX app from Google Play or the App Store, and check that the developer is listed as OKX.

Step 1: Tap Sign up

Open the app and tap Sign up.

Step 2: Choose your country and accept the terms

Select your Country/region, tick the box to accept the Terms of Service, Risk Disclosure and Privacy Notice, then tap Create account.

Step 3: Enter your email

Type in your email address. Below it there's an optional field. If you opened sign-up from the link on this page, it's already filled in, so leave it as it is and tap Sign up.

Step 4: Enter the email verification code

Check your inbox and enter the code OKX sent you.

Step 5: Add your phone number

Pick the right country code, type in your number and tap Next.

Step 6: Enter the phone verification code

Enter the code you received by text message. Your account is ready.

Signing up on a computer

The steps are almost the same: go to the OKX website and click Sign up, choose your country, accept the terms and click Create account. Enter your email and then its code, add your phone number and click Verify now, then enter the code sent to your phone.

What can you do before verifying?

Next to nothing. According to OKX, an unverified account can't:

  • buy or sell crypto,
  • deposit or withdraw (internal transfers included),
  • borrow or transfer funds.

Common problems and fixes

"This email or phone number is already in use"

  • Each email and each phone number can only be linked to one OKX account. If you already have an old account, log in to it and use "Forgot password".

The verification code isn't arriving

  • Check your spam folder, make sure the country code on your phone number is correct, then request a new code once the timer runs out.
