# KuCoin Tutorial for Beginners

> **Quick answer**
> KuCoin is a major exchange that decides who can use it **based only on your country of residence**, and it accepts a **residence permit** for verification. That makes it **one of the best fits for Arab expats**. The path looks like this: **(1) create an account** with email or phone; **(2) verify, which is mandatory** (since August 2023), with an ID card, passport, driver's license or residence permit plus a face scan; **(3) deposit** or **(4) use P2P** in your currency; **(5) withdraw**. **It isn't available to residents of France, the Netherlands or the United States.**

## Who is KuCoin a good fit for?

| | KuCoin |
|---|---|
| **Eligibility** | Based on **country of residence** only; no Arab nationality is blocked |
| **Verification** | ID card, driver's license, passport or **residence permit** |
| **P2P in Arab currencies** | UAE dirham, Saudi riyal, Egyptian pound, Kuwaiti, Jordanian, Iraqi and Algerian dinar, Moroccan dirham |
| **Not available to** | Residents of France, the Netherlands and the United States |
| **UAE** | Sign-up status is unclear after the Dubai authority's decision (June 2026) |

**Example:** a Syrian or Sudanese national living in Germany or Saudi Arabia. Bybit turns them away because of their nationality, while KuCoin looks at where they live, and they can verify with their residence permit.

## Depositing on KuCoin

1. Choose the coin, then the **network**.
2. Choose where the deposit goes: **Funding**, **Trading** or a sub-account.
3. Copy the address, plus the **memo/tag** if one appears. Without the correct memo, **your deposit won't arrive**.
4. Send from the other side on **the same network**.

> ⚠️ **Don't paste the token's contract address** in place of the deposit address; you could lose your funds. And pick a network both sides support, not just the cheapest one.

## Withdrawing from KuCoin

Go to **Assets** → **Overview** → **Withdraw**, choose the coin, paste the address, enter the amount, choose the network, then confirm. You can withdraw from either your Funding or your Trading account. Coins such as XLM and EOS need a memo.
