# How to Withdraw from OKX

> **To sell USDT for your local currency:** **P2P trading** → **Sell** → choose your local currency → **Sell crypto with no fees** → choose how you'll receive the money → **Sell**. Once you've personally confirmed the money has arrived, tap **Release crypto**. **To send crypto to a wallet or another exchange:** **Portfolio** → **Withdraw** → **Withdraw crypto**, choose the network and address (plus the tag, if there is one), then confirm with two-factor authentication.

## Method 1: Sell USDT for your local currency (P2P)

1. Open the OKX app and go to **P2P trading** → **P2P**.
2. Choose **Sell** at the top, and select the local currency you want to receive.
3. Choose **Sell crypto with no fees**.
4. Pick the payment method you'll be paid through, then tap **Sell**.
5. Wait for the buyer to pay. You can message them through the **Chat**.
6. **Check for yourself** that the money has arrived and the details match, then tap **Release crypto**.

> ⚠️ **In OKX's words:** "Remember not to release the crypto until you have received the payment and confirmed it yourself," and "make sure the details of the payment you received match those shown on the screen." Open your bank or wallet app yourself. Don't rely on a screenshot or a message.

> 💡 **Bought on P2P recently?** A protection period may stop you from selling or withdrawing for several days. You'll find how long it lasts in your account details.

## Method 2: Withdraw crypto to a wallet or another exchange

1. Open the app, go to **Portfolio** and choose **Withdraw**.
2. Choose **Withdraw crypto**, then the coin.
3. Under **Select destination**, choose **Exchanges or wallets**.
4. Choose the **Network**, paste the address, enter the amount, check the network fee, then tap **Submit**.
5. Complete two-factor authentication and tap **Confirm**.

> ⚠️ **Tag/memo:** some coins, such as **XRP**, need a tag along with the address. Without it, **your withdrawal will be lost**.

> 💡 **Protect your withdrawals:** turn on **allowlist** mode for withdrawal addresses, so funds can only go to addresses you've saved.

## Common problems

**I can't sell or withdraw after buying**
- It's most likely a protection period after a P2P purchase. Wait for it to end.

**The buyer says they've paid, but I don't see the money**
- Don't release the crypto. Message them in the chat, and open a dispute if you need to.

- Double-check the network, address and tag, and track the transaction ID.
