# How to Create a MEXC Account

## The steps

### 1. Tap Sign Up

On the MEXC website or the official app, tap **Sign Up**.

### 2. Enter your email or phone number

Enter your email or phone number. You'll see an optional field. If you opened sign-up from the link on this page, it's already filled in, so leave it as it is.

### 3. Set a password and enter the code

Create a strong password that you only use for MEXC, then enter the code you received.

### 4. Turn on two-factor authentication

In your security settings, turn on **Google Authenticator** or whichever verification method is available. This is the most important thing to do before any deposit.

## What can an unverified account do?

According to MEXC's announcement on 5 February 2026: **no deposits and no withdrawals**, trading and account features are **restricted**, and you can only follow market data and announcements.
