# How to Create and Verify a Bitget Account

> To sign up for Bitget, tap **Sign Up** on the website or in the official app, register with your **email or phone number**, choose your **country of residence** and enter the verification code. Then **verify your account**: pick your country, upload an ID document, take a photo of your face and **link your phone number**. You need all of this to use Bitget P2P. **If your country isn't listed on the verification page, Bitget doesn't support it.**

## Create your account

1. Tap **Sign Up** on the Bitget website or in the official app.
2. Enter your email or phone number and choose **the country you actually live in**. You'll see an optional field. If you opened the sign-up page from the link on this page, it's already filled in, so leave it as it is.
3. Create a strong password and enter the verification code.

## Verify your account

1. Open the **Identity Verification** page.
2. Choose **your country**. If it isn't there, Bitget doesn't currently support it.
3. Upload your **ID document**.
4. Take a **photo of your face** (a selfie).
5. **Link your phone number**, if you haven't already.

> ⚠️ **Don't pick a country you don't live in, and don't use a VPN.** Bitget may also reject documents issued by restricted countries. ## Frequently asked questions

**Can I use Bitget P2P without verifying?**
No. You need to be verified and have a linked phone number to use P2P.

**My country isn't on the verification list. What should I do?**
That means Bitget doesn't currently support it. Use another exchange that's available in your country.

**Is Bitget available in Lebanon?**
No. Lebanon is on Bitget's list of restricted countries.
