# How to Verify Your Binance Account: Step-by-Step Guide

> **Quick answer**
> To verify your Binance account, tap **[Verify Now]** in the app, choose your country of residence and document type (national ID card, passport or driver's license), upload photos of both sides, complete the face scan in front of your camera, then check your details and tap **[Continue]**. Reviews are usually done **within 48 hours**, and you'll get an email when yours is finished. Until you're verified, you can't deposit or trade.
>
> **[Open Binance and start verifying →]**

| | |
|---|---|
| **Steps** | 7 |
| **What you need** | A valid ID document, a camera and good lighting |
| **Review time** | Usually within 48 hours, sometimes longer in special cases |
| **Cost** | Free |
| **What it unlocks** | Deposits and withdrawals, trading, and Fiat, Spot and Futures accounts |

## Why do you need to verify your account?

According to Binance, unverified accounts are restricted. Verification is what unlocks:

- **Deposits and withdrawals**
- **Unrestricted trading**
- **Fiat, Spot and Futures accounts**
- **Advanced features**

Existing users who never verified have their accounts switched to **"withdraw only"** mode: they can only withdraw, cancel orders and close positions.

Your verification level also sets your account's trading limits. The higher the level you complete, the higher your limits.

## Have these ready before you start

1. **A valid ID document:** national ID card, passport or driver's license, depending on your country (see the table below). **Expired documents are rejected.**
2. **A phone with a working camera**, and permission for the app to use it.
3. **A well-lit spot** with a plain background.
4. **Your face uncovered:** no hat, glasses or filter.
5. **Enough uninterrupted time:** don't close the app or refresh the page while you're verifying.

## Accepted documents in each Arab country

Document 1 is the one Binance recommends most in each country:

| Country | First document (best) | Second document | Third document |
|---|---|---|---|
| Egypt | National ID card | Passport | Driver's license |
| Saudi Arabia | National ID | Driver's license | Passport |
| UAE* | Emirates ID (residents) | Passport (non-residents) | — |
| Kuwait | Driver's license | Civil ID card | Passport |
| Qatar | ID card | Driver's license | Passport |
| Bahrain* | Passport + ID card or driver's license | | |
| Oman | ID card | Driver's license | Passport |
| Jordan | ID card | Driver's license | Passport |
| Lebanon | Driver's license | Passport | ID card |
| Palestine | ID card | Passport | Driver's license |
| Iraq | National ID card | Passport | Driver's license |
| Yemen | ID card | Passport | Driver's license |
| Libya | Passport | Driver's license | National ID card |
| Tunisia | Driver's license | Passport | National identity card (carte d'identité) |
| Algeria | National identity card | Passport | Driver's license |
| Morocco | National ID card | Driver's license | Passport |
| Sudan | National ID card | Passport | Driver's license |

\* **Bahrain:** two documents are required: your passport plus an ID card or driver's license from your country of residence. **UAE:** residents use a valid Emirates ID, and non-residents use a valid passport. In both countries, local law sets the minimum age at **21** for signing up to Binance's local platforms there.

> 💡 **Living outside your home country?** Select **the country you currently live in** as your country of residence, then choose the country that issued your document. For example, you can live in Germany and verify with an Egyptian passport, depending on which documents are available for your country of residence.

## How to verify your Binance account on your phone (7 steps)

### Step 1: Tap [Verify Now]

Log in to the app and tap **[Verify Now]** on the home screen. Or tap the account icon at the top, then the **[Unverified]** button.

### Step 2: Choose your country of residence and document

Select **your country of residence**, then **the country that issued your document**, then **the document type**, and tap **[Continue]**.

### Step 3: Choose how to submit your document

Pick one of the submission methods shown to you and tap **[Continue]**. (Uploading a photo from your gallery is only available in some countries.)

### Step 4: Photograph both sides of your document

Take photos of the **front and back** of your ID. Make sure that:
- The photo is sharp and all four edges are visible.
- There's no glare over any of the details.
- You're photographing **the original document**, not a photo of a photo or a photocopy.

### Step 5: Face scan

Center your face in the frame and follow the on-screen instructions. Keep **your eyes open**, and no hat, glasses or filter.

> ⚠️ **Warning:** Never let anyone else do the face scan on your account, and never do a face scan on someone else's account for money. It's one of the most common scams, and the account ends up in your name.

### Step 6: Check your details carefully

Check your name, date of birth and document number, then tap **[Continue]**.

> ⚠️ **Very important:** Your details must match your document exactly, and **they can't be changed once you confirm**. Check every letter.

### Step 7: Wait for the review result

Don't close the app while your submission is uploading. You'll get an email once the review is finished. It's **usually done within 48 hours**, though it can take longer in some special cases.

## How to verify on a computer

1. Hover over the account icon and click **[Account]** → **[Identification]** → **[Verify]**.
2. Choose your country of residence, the issuing country and the document type.
3. Upload your document from your computer, or scan the QR code to finish verifying on your phone.
4. Upload both sides of your ID and click **[Continue]**.
5. Complete the face scan, then check your details and click **[Continue]**. Don't refresh the page during the process.

> 💡 **Tip:** Verifying on your phone is usually easier because the camera is sharper. On a computer, choose the QR code option and finish on your phone.

## Why does Binance reject verification, and how do you fix it?

**The document photo isn't clear**
- Take the photo in daylight, without flash, with the ID on a dark surface. Make sure all the edges are inside the frame.

**The document has expired**
- Expired documents are always rejected. Use another valid document from your country's list.

**The face scan failed**
- Take off your glasses and hat, face the light source, keep your eyes open, and follow the requested movements slowly.

**My details don't match my document**
- If you entered something wrong and confirmed it, contact Binance support from inside the app.

**I've used up my attempts**
- Binance limits how many verification attempts you can make per day. Wait 24 hours and try again.

**The review has taken more than 48 hours**
- Manual reviews can take several days. Don't submit new requests; keep an eye on your email or contact support.

**My country isn't in the residence list**
- **Don't pick any country other than the one you really live in, and don't use a VPN.** It breaks Binance's terms and can get your account and funds frozen. Check [which exchanges are available in your country](https://exchangesteps.com/countries).

## When do you need to update your verification?

You can update your details with the **[Update Identity]** option on the verification page, for example when:
- Your document expires.
- Your name or ID number changes.
- Your nationality changes.

## Frequently asked questions

**How long does Binance verification take?**
Reviews are usually done within 48 hours, but can take longer in special cases such as a manual review.

**Is verification mandatory?**
Yes, if you want to deposit, withdraw or trade. Unverified accounts are restricted.

**Can I verify with a passport?**
Yes, in almost every Arab country, but which document works best depends on your country (see the table).

**Can I change my name after verifying?**
Your details can't be changed right after you confirm them. If your name has actually changed, use the [Update Identity] option.

**I live in a country that isn't my own. How do I verify?**
Select the country you currently live in, then choose the country that issued your document.

**Is Binance verification safe?**
Verification only ever happens inside the official app. Never send photos of your ID to anyone on WhatsApp or Telegram who claims to be Binance support.

**Can I verify for someone else, or use an account someone else verified?**
No. The account must be in your name and verified with your own face. Buying or renting verified accounts is one of the most common scams.
