# Binance Tutorial for Beginners: From Zero to Your First Withdrawal

> **Quick answer**
> Getting started on Binance comes down to 5 steps, in this order: **(1) create an account** with your email or phone, **(2) verify your identity** with an ID and a face scan (usually reviewed within 48 hours), **(3) fund your account** by card or through P2P in your local currency, **(4) buy USDT**, and **(5) withdraw**, either by selling your USDT for local currency on P2P or by sending it to another wallet. Each step has its own full guide with screenshots.

## The roadmap: 5 steps

| Step | What you do | How long it takes | Full guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Create your account | A few minutes | [How to create a Binance account](https://exchangesteps.com/how-to-create-binance-account) |
| 2 | Verify your account | Usually reviewed within 48 hours | [Binance identity verification](https://exchangesteps.com/binance-identity-verification) |
| 3 | Fund your account | Minutes (by card) | [How to deposit on Binance](https://exchangesteps.com/how-to-deposit-on-binance) |
| 4 | Buy USDT with your local currency | Depends on how fast the seller is | [How to buy USDT on Binance P2P](https://exchangesteps.com/how-to-buy-usdt-on-binance-p2p) |
| 5 | Withdraw | Depends on the buyer or the network | [How to withdraw from Binance](https://exchangesteps.com/how-to-withdraw-from-binance) |

## Step 1: Create your Binance account

Signing up is **free**, and you can use your email, phone number, or a Google, Apple or Telegram account. You'll enter a **6-digit verification code within 30 minutes** and set a password of **at least 8 characters, with an uppercase letter and a number**.

The one thing to get right: choose a **personal account** if you're an individual, because the account type **can't be changed** after signup. You also need to be at least 18, or 21 for Binance's local platforms in Bahrain and the UAE.

## Step 2: Verify your account

Until you verify, your account stays restricted: **no deposits, no withdrawals, no trading**. To get verified you'll need:
- A **valid** ID document: national ID card, passport or driver's license, depending on your country.
- A **face scan** in front of your camera, with no glasses, hat or filter.

Reviews are **usually done within 48 hours**. Double-check your details before you confirm, because **they can't be changed afterwards**.

## Step 3: Fund your account

You have 3 options:
1. **Card:** Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay, via **[Add Funds]** then **[Buy With]**. It's the easiest route, but some banks add fees or decline the payment.
2. **P2P in your local currency:** you pay a seller directly by bank transfer or e-wallet.
3. **Crypto deposit** from another wallet or exchange, choosing **the same network** on both sides.

## Step 4: Buy USDT on P2P

P2P is the most popular way to buy USDT with local currency in Arab countries. Binance **holds the seller's crypto in escrow** for the whole trade. You pay the seller directly, tap **[Transferred, notify seller]**, and once they release it, the USDT lands in your **Funding wallet**.

Two rules to remember:
- **Never tap [Transferred] until you've actually paid.**
- **3 cancellations in one day** block buying on your account for the rest of that day.

## Step 5: Withdraw

- **To turn USDT into money in your account:** sell it on P2P from your **Funding wallet**, get paid into a payment method **in your own name**, and **don't tap [Confirm Release] until you've seen the money in your account with your own eyes**.
- **To send crypto to another exchange:** **[Assets]** → **[Overview]** → **[Send]** → **[Withdraw Assets]**, pick the same network the receiving side uses, and send a small test amount the first time.

## Spot wallet vs. Funding wallet

This trips up more beginners than anything else:
- **Spot wallet:** for trading. Card purchases land here.
- **Funding wallet:** for P2P. P2P purchases land here, and P2P sales come out of it.

If your balance has "disappeared", it's almost certainly sitting in the other wallet.

## 5 security rules from day one

1. **Turn on two-factor authentication** as soon as you create your account.
2. **Never give your verification code to anyone.** Binance won't ask for it by phone call or WhatsApp.
3. **Never rent out your account or your face** to verify an account for someone else.
4. **On P2P, keep everything inside the order**, and don't release your crypto until you've confirmed the money has arrived yourself.
5. **Turn on the withdrawal address whitelist.**

## Is Binance available in my country?

Binance is available in most Arab countries, and the documents it accepts for verification vary from country to country. Check [your country's page](https://exchangesteps.com/countries) before you sign up; it also lists the local payment methods people use on P2P.

## Frequently asked questions
